Senior Backend Engineer (Rust / GNL)

Remote — LATAM/EU timezones

Own crates in the Geo-Neural Layer. Work directly with Carlos on the 4-layer ontology design. Type-safe Rust, Tokio async, TimescaleDB, A2A protocol implementation.

What you’ll do
  • Design and implement crates in the deino-gnl-* family
  • Improve the audit manifest format and its reference implementation
  • Contribute to deino-ledger (append-only event ledger on TimescaleDB)
  • Write engineering blog posts about your work — we believe in public-facing engineering
  • Top-5 hire: 5+ yrs senior backend, 2+ yrs production Rust (or strong systems background)

01Remote-first, async-default

Buenos Aires HQ; team distributed. No fixed office. Two synchronous touchpoints per week.

02Founder access

Direct line to Carlos and Carolina. No middle layer. Founders work alongside hires daily.

03Engineering culture

Type safety, correctness, code that reasons clearly. We write Rust because we mean it.

04Compensation

Cash competitive for LATAM senior engineers (US-grade for hires in US/EU). Significant equity for the first 8 hires.

05What we don’t do

Standups. Sprint ceremonies. Headcount-as-status. We measure shipped work, not seat-time.

06What we do

Public engineering. Open RFC for the audit manifest. Open core at V3. We believe the best work survives sunlight.
