§ 01
Purpose of this policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) defines uses of DEINO that are prohibited. Compliance with this AUP is a material obligation under our Terms of Service. We enforce this AUP both because it reflects our values and because it protects our customers, our community, and the integrity of the service.
This AUP is non-negotiable. We do not grant exceptions, including for paying enterprise customers. Customers who require uses inconsistent with this AUP are advised to seek a different vendor.
§ 02
Absolutely prohibited uses
You may not use DEINO to:
- Surveillance of individuals without lawful basis. DEINO may not be used to track, profile, or build dossiers on private individuals, journalists, activists, dissidents, political opposition, religious minorities, or members of vulnerable groups. This restriction applies regardless of jurisdiction or stated business purpose.
- Stalking, harassment, doxing. Building profiles of individuals to harm, intimidate, expose, or follow them.
- Weapons development. Designing, developing, deploying, or coordinating weapons (kinetic, cyber, biological, chemical, autonomous).
- Targeting protected groups. Profiling individuals on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or political belief for adverse decisions.
- Election interference. Manipulating, suppressing, or undermining democratic elections (foreign or domestic).
- Sanctions evasion. Using DEINO to circumvent applicable sanctions (OFAC, EU, UN, UK) or to support persons or entities on sanctions lists.
- Money laundering, terrorism financing. Using DEINO to obscure the origin, ownership, or beneficiary of funds for illegal purposes.
- Child exploitation. Any use related to material exploiting minors, in any form, anywhere.
- Discrimination in regulated lending or insurance. Using DEINO to make credit, insurance, employment, housing, or essential-service decisions that violate fair lending, fair housing, or equal credit opportunity laws.
- Critical infrastructure attack. Disrupting or attacking utilities, hospitals, financial systems, emergency services, or other critical infrastructure.
§ 03
Technical prohibitions
You may not:
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract DEINO source code (except as permitted by applicable law).
- Probe, scan, or penetration-test the service without prior written authorization. (See security@deino.ai for our responsible disclosure program.)
- Use automated tools to scrape the service in violation of rate limits or terms.
- Bypass authentication, authorization, or rate-limiting mechanisms.
- Interfere with the operation of the service, other customers’ use, or the supporting infrastructure.
- Upload, transmit, or store malware, viruses, ransomware, or any malicious code.
- Attempt to exfiltrate, intercept, or modify other customers’ data.
§ 04
Commercial prohibitions
You may not:
- Resell, sublicense, or distribute DEINO to third parties without written authorization (Enterprise tier may include limited resale or embedded rights as separately negotiated).
- White-label DEINO and present it as your own product.
- Use DEINO to build a directly competing product or service (e.g., building a competing oracle infrastructure platform using DEINO outputs as training data).
- Use DEINO in a manner inconsistent with your subscription tier (e.g., using Free tier credentials for production workloads).
- Share account credentials across users or organizations.
§ 05
Industry-specific restrictions
Until further notice, DEINO declines new business in the following categories. Existing customers may continue under current contracts but new sales are paused:
- Government and defense contracts pre-Series Seed. Procurement timelines are incompatible with our current runway. We will revisit this category post-Series Seed.
- Cryptocurrency exchanges or unregulated DeFi venues. Reputational risk and AML exposure inconsistent with our regulated-industry focus.
- Consumer fintech. Different regulatory framework and decision dynamics from our ICP.
- White-label OEM deployments pre-V4. Architecture not yet ready for OEM productization.
- Tier-1 G-SIFI banks pre-Year 3. Sales cycles incompatible with our current capacity. We will revisit via Big-4 advisory introduction.
§ 06
Enforcement
If we believe you are violating this AUP, we may, at our discretion:
- Issue a written warning and request remediation.
- Suspend your account pending investigation.
- Terminate your account immediately without refund.
- Report the matter to law enforcement or relevant regulators where required by law.
- Notify affected third parties (e.g., other customers whose data may be implicated).
For severe violations (prohibited uses in Section 02), we will terminate immediately without notice. We retain audit logs sufficient to substantiate enforcement decisions to regulators or in legal proceedings.
§ 07
Reporting violations
If you become aware of any actual or suspected violation of this AUP, please report it to abuse@deino.ai. Reports may be anonymous. We investigate every credible report and protect reporters from retaliation.
For security vulnerabilities specifically (not AUP violations), contact security@deino.ai.
§ 08
Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP to address emerging threats and use cases. Material changes are notified to customers 30 days before they take effect. The current version is always available at this URL.
This AUP reflects our values about who should and should not use DEINO. If our policies become inconsistent with your needs, you may terminate your subscription on standard terms.
